Born at the tail end of the Baby Boom, Joni Hubred grew up in small towns and developed a curiosity about their secrets and histories.

After 15 years of writing for community newspapers, she joined patch.com, online journalism’s most spectacular shooting star. When AOL sold the company in 2014, she launched a much-loved but ultimately unsuccessful news website in Farmington, Michigan.

Today, Joni writes mystery and history, speaks occasionally about her books and social media, and slings cheese at The Cheese Lady in Farmington.
